Week 5, Part 2: Capp (DITFT)
Jul. 13th, 2021 01:49 pm

Hello, and welcome back to Lakewood! This is part 2 of week 5, the Capp household. The Capps are a DITFT challenge that's working on its first generation goals. Actually, there's only two goals left: having a girl and a boy (so far the family has three girls), and catching all the different kinds of fish.
Starting where we left off, it's Monday evening and there's some skilling going on. Jenny Capp, the foundress' spouse, is playing chess with her firstborn Reese.

Meanwhile, the seconborn, Reina, is working on her charisma at the mirror.

There's some cackling outside, and when I go check, it's Olive Specter stealing our newspaper.
It seems tonight is the night that Jenny breaks the news to Reese: she's pregnant again.
Yup, it happens to be twins. Well, there's two chances to get that boy, right?
While Jenny and Reese sit at the chess board, Reina takes care of the current little one, Riley. Thank goodness for teens being able to help with the younger siblings.

The penguin is still marching in and out of the house, flapping helplessly in front of the fish collection on the wall.

Oh hey Regan, welcome home! And congrats on the promotion!
Regan: "Thanks. It's about time, last week was a fuss."
Yeah, I know. With Jenny pregnant again, I can't exactly promise this week will be better in that respect, but we can try.
Regan here is our foundress, and she'd very much like to top the Criminal career.
Oh dear. Looks like Jenny spent a little too long in front of the chess board. Wakey wakey, you need to finish your spaghetti and head to bed...

Regan has some energy left, so she gets to study a bit before bed. Plus she's on the night shift now, we need to move her sleep schedule a little bit.

And because she has more energy, she's the one that gets to wake up when Riley cries. Technically Riley sleeps in Reina's room, but thanks to the magic of room separators, she won't wake her sister up.
... Yikes. There's going to be two more babies soon, we're going to have to expand on the house Regan!
Regan: "Yeah, good point. We have the money, right?"
Money's not so much of an issue, but space on the lot might be a different matter. I'll need to think about this, luckily it's not this second.
Tuesday morning, Reese and Reina get a day off from school because of the snow. No complaints, I'm sure. Reina even cheered, despite being a Knowledge sim.
Reina: "Hooray, more time for skilling!"
But first, breakfast. Grilled cheese of course, as it was Reese doing the cooking.

Oh oh! I almost forgot again. The DITFT rules are quite permissive, so now that alarms are unlocked, the family can get them. So of course we did.

Regan: "Can we hire a maid too? I'm not done cleaning this toilet, and I think I just heard Jenny rush for the other one."
Agreed. Let's have someone take care of that today.
It's pretty awesome that Reese has a little sister who's willing to discuss the joys of grilled cheese with her!

Reina tried to chat to her buddy Octavia.
Pascal: "Octavia is out learning in class, unlike SOMEBODY I know. Try later."
Umm... The school is... closed? Because of... all the snow? Pascal, are you sure know where your daughter is?
Jenny is right there when little Riley needs a bottle and some cuddles.

Although poor little Riley has to wait on the floor, while Jenny experiences her first baby bump.

There was just enough space on the couch for three of the Capp ladies skilling. Reese and Reina had wants for skills, and Regan needs them for her next promotion.

Ah. I'm just so enjoying having the help around now that my sims can.

Regan gets a sip of elixir again. Jenny will get hers when she's no longer pregnant. I don't think it would cause problems, but just in case. I guess it's close to the time I need to let these two become elders, but since there are two more babies on the way, I don't want that to be quite yet.

Reina does eventually get her phone time, after Pascal locates his daughter. The penguin is there, naturally, the poor thing seems to be marching in and out constantly.

Regan needs some body skill, so she heads out to the trampolin. I may have chosen her workout outfit thinking about indoor activities...

Reese rolled the want to study Physiology. It was a change of pace to the constant Grilled Cheese wants, so she got her wish.

Jenny works on her creativity when the pregnancy allows her to. She'll need it when she eventually goes to work after her pregnancy. The painting she finished here is pretty cute.

Reese and Reina are pretty close, and I love it. <3

Reina: "Look Katri, no hands!"
I'd really prefer if you actually used hands to hold your little sister...
Now that's better.

It seems that I missed the popup about Riley's birthday, so no cake for her. Well, not that she'd be able to eat it anyway. Fortunately Riley had a vigilant big sister, who helped her with her birthday.

There, all the way grown up to toddler!

And here's little Riley after her makeover. A cute little one! Her stats are 8/3/10/3/10 (Pisces).

As usual, Riley is the only one awake at night, but fortunately she's pretty good at entertaining herself. I got her a cute greenish recolor of the charisma bunny, too bad it seems to revert to the default pink while being played with. Oh well.

The moment Jenny was awake, she got to start potty training Riley.

Meanwhile, Regan's cooking wasn't going quite as smoothly.
Regan: "My omelettes, I burnt my omelettes!"
Thank goodness for the alarms that we now are allowed to have! The fire brigade was there in no time at all.

Regan: "My omelettes..."

Breakfast wasn't the greatest that morning.

But on the plus side, it was pretty great to have the hired help around!

After breakfast, and taking care of Riley, Regan got to studying, to prepare for her next promotion. Jenny, being pregnant, took a nap.

And now she's even more pregnant! One more day, and there'll be two more kids around.

Future kids or not, Jenny needs to help her current little one learn the necessary skills. At least she can sit down while working on the talking skill.

I noticed that Johnny Smith was walking by, so I had Reese greet him. It's nice to have some company for the kids.

Johnny started out by bragging, and Reese didn't exactly appreciate it.

He got a better start with Reina, as he joined her at the chess board.

Regan: "Time for me to go to work, and for you to head for the kitchen, huh?"
Penguin: "Delicious fish, only so high up..."

Reese, too, did eventually socialize with Johnny. She even found out that he's nice enough to listen to Grilled Cheese talk. That's good information to know.

Johnny got a little bit too eager with Reina, who didn't think hugging was okay at this point. So rather, they spent some more time talking.

Thank goodness for teenagers in the house! Not only can they help with the younger siblings, they are also able to make smart milk. Reese was in Gold aspiration, so she got to make some to store.

Jenny got to work with Riley on those toddler skills. She's the Family sim after all, and had some of the relevant wants too.

Oh hi Regan, welcome home. No promotion today?
Regan: "No, unfortunately not. It looks like my performance wasn't quite enough yet, but next time it should be."
Alright. You're still doing great, with everything else going on.
It's a new day, and Reese starts it with some Grilled Cheese, how else.

Regan's day starts with heading to Yummy! It's time to sell some groceries and make sure that the family has enough money to expand on the house when the babies arrive.

Nice Reporter paid us a visit, but didn't stay very long. Well, we already have the Best of the Best Award, so it's all good.

Huh? What's this, some new faces?
In preparation for the first teens heading to college this round, I made some dormies for the Lizzie Davidson College. For now, the premades of La Fiesta Tech have been enrolled as students, others may join later as Lakewood grows. It took me a moment to realize that yes, they'll be showing up at community lots now. Well, more the merrier!
Regan's main motivation at this time is that she gets to restock, as she wants the gold badge for that. Well, there was restocking to be done, too.

Back at home, a very pregnant Jenny gets some phone time, and apparently also a furniture discount.

Melody Tinker showed up as a school bus friend. She's been doing that some lately.

Soon after the oldest kids come from school, it's time for Jenny to stop being pregnant. She opts for a traditional bathroom birth.

Reese and Reina were there in an instant, Regan had to put her book away, and then the bathroom was already full.

The first twin soon makes an appearance, and hooray, it's a boy! Finally!

He soon gets handed over to Regan, who is following the birth from the hallway with Melody.

The second twin, born in the hallway, is a little girl.

The little boy is named Jimmy (held by Regan), and his slightly younger sister is Ria. Both get some snuggly warm clothes.

Now that the babies are here, it's high time that I expanded the house. There's just no way we're going to all fit in the old house with two more kids.

So, let's have a little tour, shall we? The living room is mostly the same. It's slightly bigger, has the stairways upstairs and got Don't Wake the Llama now.

Where Regan and Jenny's bedroom used to be is now one child bedroom. It'll be Riley's once she grows up, and probably it'll be shared later.

Next to that room, there's another bedroom for the kids, currently shared by Reese and Reina.

Upstairs, there's a lounge / hobby room, and behind that door, an additional bathroom.

Regan and Jenny's bedroom has been moved upstairs, and it has access to a small balcony.

And finally, the upstairs also has a nursery, which will be inhabited by Riley, Jimmy and Ria.

Shortly after the babies were born, Melody showed her mean streak, and was kindly asked to leave for today.

The rest of the evening was spent among family. Taking care of the new babies as well as Riley took up a lot of time.

On top of that, the teenagers had homework too. Reese was quick about it, so she got some phone time.

Reina relaxed in front of the TV with Regan. With so many chores, the household needs some easy time too.

Jenny is on diaper duty tonight, as she's less tired than Regan.

She also finally gets her sip of elixir. I don't want her to just have those babies and then go grey.

While she's at it, she tends the trees as they need some attention.

When morning comes and Reese has fed everyone with her grilled cheese, Regan heads back to Yummy! Now that the house has been expanded, we need to make sure that we have enough money for taxes at the end of the round. Chloe Trollson seems to have come grocery shopping directly from work.

Regan is happy, as she finally gained that gold badge in restocking.

Yet more proof that fencing the cash register doesn't help. Kent, that gate was and still is locked!
Kent: "But... I'm confused!"
Peter gives us the last star needed for Yummy! To become a rank 10 business. Not bad, thanks Peter!

Being rank 10 doesn't seem to make customers any less confused.

Regan heads home via the Walmart, as she can't shop for food at Yummy!, and Jenny heads to work in turn. The first time in an eon, with all the pregnancies, too.

While the little ones sleep, Regan puts some produce from various inventories into crates.

After that, little Riley needs her. It's her birthday tonight and she needs to learn her nursery rhyme. Aspiration can't hurt either.

I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again: thank goodness for teenagers in the house!

Congrats on the promotion, Jenny. It's much appreciated, even though you're not super career-oriented. Level 9 is excellent work.
Jenny: "Guess who's home! With a promotion!"
Yes, we know you're a Family sim. Now go take care of your needs.
After the grownups are fed, it's time for the birthdays. Riley is not the only one, also the twins are growing up tonight, but she's up first.
Regan is unfortunately going to miss them, she has to work.

So, let's blow out the candles and see how she turns out!

Verdict: still cute.
Riley: "Look, my hands are all big! And I can use them to eat cake!"
That sounds like a good idea.
So before the next birthday, a brief break was in order, to eat Riley's cake.

Here she is after her makeover. We found some suitable clothes in the closet, and I still like that hair on her, so that stayed.

Next up, it's Ria's turn to have her birthday. Reina got to do the honors this time.

Let's blow out the candles and toss the baby!

There we go, all covered in confetti, but otherwise little Ria is all good, and a little cutie too.

Jimmy was asleep, so while waiting for him to wake up for cake, Jenny went fishing. We're only two fish short of the full collection at the moment: the jumbo version of the rainbow trout (normal size version here) and the golden trout. The second one needs the gold badge, so Jenny has some work left yet.
The rules don't state when exactly the goals need to be fulfilled to count, so I'll assume it's fine as long as either Regan or Jenny completes the goal sometime before their death, even if the next generation has taken over by then.

Meanwhile, Reese gives little Ria a makeover. Yep, definitely still cute. Her stats are 8/3/6/3/5 (Virgo).

It's pretty late when little Jimmy is finally awake, but we're still up for one more cake tonight. One more baby-tossing coming right up!

There we go, another happy smiley toddler in the house. Just wait a moment and your big sister will take you to the mirror.

And there's little Jimmy after his makover. I don't know if it's just me, or if he is the most unique looking of the kids. In any case, he's way cute! His personality for the interested is 8/9/6/3/9 (Aries).

Hello Regan, welcome home. It seems your worknight was quite succesfull?
Regan: "Yes, that promotion is now in the bag. Only two levels to go and I'll be at the top. How are the kids?"
Oh they're doing well, just a bit bigger than when you left.

The same applies with toddlers as with infants: thank goodness for teenagers in the house!

In the same vein, it's great that Riley can now entertain herself.

They can play together with the toy garage! I'm melting!

It's Saturday, and Reina has a want for a date. She also happens to have someone with whom she has three natural bolts and a crush, so we know who to call.

Donte Fortunato from the Pure Entrepreneur challenge is Reina's date. Three natural bolts are pretty rare, so I'm curious to see how this goes.

As usual, I took care of the friendly wants to boost on Reina's aspiration.

The date almost ended prematurely, because the pickpocket took an interest in Donte, and the pickpocket animation takes forever.

I was surprised to see that when left to their own devices, these two were much more likely to play or hang out than make out.

They did eventually fall in love by themselves.

All in all, the date was great. I think I actually like them together more because they do other things than make out on their own. Time will show if they'll work out.

Once again, the townies seem to have the most interesting lives. Who's Albany fighting?

Hmm? Aldric Davis? I didn't know the two of them had even had time to meet, let alone dislike each other this much!

Back at home, it's time for some toddler training, as you'd believe with two toddlers in the house.

There's also skilling (and naps) for the older members of the household.

During skilling, Riley discovered that her OTH is Tinkering. Actually, I think that she did this autonomously.

Did I mention a lot of toddler training?

The garden could use some work too, so Regan and Reina made a bit of a group effort. It looks like the sprinklers keep the harvest-ready plants alive, so I think we're not in a hurry to get them harvested. At least I hope so, with everything else going on.

Apparently Reese, too, likes tinkering. The way we found that out made me giggle. Well, to each their own?

Last morning of the rotation. Riley was perhaps worried that there wouldn't be breakfast with all the fuss in the house, and made her own. Didn't even burn it.

Bottom Summerdream was walking by, so Riley got to greet her.

Regan made sure that there was actual breakfast, and not of the Grilled Cheese variety, either.

For Jenny, there was a lot of toddler training once again. At least she's a Family sim, so she likes it.

Regan needs creativity for work, and she actually had time to sit down at the piano for a bit.

Also the teens got to meet Bottom and chat a bit.

As the night fell, Jenny had a bit of time so she worked on her fishing. Bottom joined for a bit before her curfew hit and she went home.

Before bed, she paid the taxes that I'd calculated. A little bit closer to a public university once again.

And so the rotation comes to a close, with only the toddlers awake and waiting for their parents to wake up and pay attention to them again. The only thing left are the scores, so here we go.
