Week 4, Part 6: Goth (Uglacy)

Hello, and welcome back to Lakewood: Just a BaCC! This is the sixth part of week four, and it's time for the Goth Uglacy.
Here's our foundress Bella, she's currently entertaining Consort Capp as a guest, has been since last week. Let's see what's up this time, alright?

Bella's first order of business this week was to say goodbye to Consort. I checked the ACR adjuster and apparently Bella is less than an hour away from giving birth, plus she's got a full bladder and she's exhausted.
Bella: "Bye Consort, I don't think you'll be wanting to see this. Nice meeting you!"

Bella had time to nap for about five seconds, but she took it.

After those five seconds, labor pains took over.

Fortunately, it doesn't take too long in the sims, and soon enough Bella had her son in her arms. Meet little Ben Goth!
Little Ben will quite likely be a spare, not really because he's illegitimate, more because he probably won't be ugly enough to be an uglacy heir. We'll get to work on one that is later on.

After a quick cuddle, Bella barely had time to get her newborn son in the crib before she collapsed right next to it. Yup, I'm glad I didn't pick the Noble Composure handicap here either.

On her second try, Bella actually got to sleep in her bed. Now that's better.

Despite her Romance Aspiration, Bella rolled the want to buy a changing table, and she could (barely) afford it, so I promptly bought one. It was pretty cute. She also rolled the want to learn parenting, but as I had her makeover badge want locked, the parenting unfortunately rolled away when she woke. Oh well.

After feeding both mother and son in the morning, it was time to get Ben some nice warm clothes. Cash is tight, but luckily there was a little bit for baby clothes.

After Ben was put down to his crib for a nap, we decided that it was time to invite Peter over. Bella had suitably three days off in a row, so it was a good time to work on moving him in.

I'd never had a vacation townie over before, so this is when I learned that they'll actually only show up the next day at ten in the morning. Well, good thing that Bella has the time off, so she's actually around when Peter finally comes over.

In the mean time, Bella and Ben found other things to amuse themselves.

In the morning, we had the matchmaker show up to leave a magic lamp. As expected, it was for Ben. Thanks, I'm sure that'll come in handy!

Finally, time for Peter to show up!

As Ben was for the moment happy, Bella and Peter wasted no time but got started with a date right away.

I even bought a small stereo so that they could dance. Had to sell one of the chairs at the chess table to afford it.

From there on, things progressed as you'd think they would.

That's a way to make best friends I suppose.

I knew ACR would be kicking in soonish, and it did. I'm sure Bella and Peter quite appreciated that, too.

It also seems that they didn't waste any time on other accounts. Ben won't be an only child for long.

Love was in the air, too.

So all in all, the date was very much a success.

Bella had to take care of Ben after the date, and Peter decided to use the bathroom. He changed out of his outerwear at the door, into his underwear, who knows why. Then he proceeded to jump rope in the living room. Well, whatever floats your boat, Peter.

With Ben fed and and happy, it's time to move on with this challenge.

Peter happily agreed to move in with Bella and Ben, and brought 6,000 simoleans with him. It's not hugely much, but it's definitely useful for the family.

Peter's first order of business was to head out to the Walmart and buy some clothes, now that there's a bit of money.

Both Peter and Bella got makeovers, and it seems they were both pleased too.
Inspecting Peter in the mirror, it seems he's not maybe as ugly as he's rumored to be, but his face does look a bit odd without the moustache. So he got to keep the 'stache and I gave him a beard too. Well, we've got generations of time with the uglacy thing, not in a hurry!

Peter then spent the rest of the night getting to know his new... unofficial step-son, I suppose. As he and Bella are both Romance sims, I think they'll only get married if they both roll the want. Anyway, I think Peter and Ben came along pretty well.

Meanwhile, Bella was otherwise occupied.

In the morning, Peter took another trip to Walmart, because I fogot to check the fridge situation in the evening.

Well, it was all good because now Peter could also get a job on the same trip. Lakewood had an Education opening available, so he took that one. That career reward should be pretty useful in a legacy, I'd think.

Bella and Ben made best buddies.

Peter apparently got the pop up that he missed a day of work. Umm... He only got the job today, game? Oh well, better take care that he makes it to work tomorrow, then.

We yet changed his shirt into a different one. I kind of liked the other one better on him, but it apparently glitched pretty annoyingly through his pants when sitting and this one doesn't.

Time for baby bump number one!

Our next door neighbor, William Trollson, apparently came for a visit, to check on our newspaper and to be growled at by a wolf.

We decided to use one of Ben's lamp wishes on money.
Bella: ”Hello, mr. Genie? I'm over here.”

The genie did eventually find Bella, and her wish was granted.

Bella was way tired and had to go for an evening nap, but that didn't stop her son from being ready to grow up. Peter got to assist Ben in that.

And here we go! Let's see after his makeover, but I think I was right an Ben is way too cute for an uglacy.
Ben: ”Ga-goo!”

That night, the money falling from the sky followed Bella wherever she went.

As for Ben, yep, just as I suspected: way too cute for an uglacy! Sorry kid. But don't worry, we'll find you something else you can do when you grow up.

Ben conveniently wanted a toy, and so he got to spend most of the night playing with it while Bella and Peter slept.

In the morning, Bella was on potty training duty. Neither she nor Peter are in high enough aspiration to make smart milk right now, so it's slow going.

Meanwhile, Peter headed for his first day at work. Don't be late now, Peter, your employer already thinks you missed work yesterday!
Peter: ”Isn't it kind of unfair?”
Oh yeah, it's completely unfair. Now, run along!

Bella's day was mostly spent trying to tend to her needs, and Ben's. The pregnancy is kind of rough on her.

No promotion today for Peter, as his mood wasn't the greatest either.

The couple worked on their social need. By discussing how hot Bella is, how else.

Time for baby bump number two! One more day before the baby is born.

Nina Caliente, who's pretty close with Bella, happened to walk by, so she got greeted.

I may have had a bit of an ulterior motive there. The house was pretty filthy, and as per the BaCC rules, the family can't have a maid yet, so Nina got to give some first aid.

The family is quite busy as it is. Peter got to fertilize the garden, as someone really should learn about gardening, to be able to take care of the Legacy tree. It turns out that Nature is Peter's OTH.

While Peter was in gold aspiration, he also got to make some smart milk to store for later.

Daniel Pleasant from the neighboring Pure Entrepreneur challenge showed up and entertained Nina at the chessboard. After she was done with cleaning the house for the Goths, that is.

That night, Peter got to work with potty training Ben, and it was fruitful. Thank goodness for smart milk!

Daniel apparently couldn't resist a cute toddler and the two of them socialized quite happily.

Before bed, Peter kept Nina company for a bit. Mostly because I felt a bit bad for luring her in just to clean.

Bella's pregnancy is quite far along, and her needs drop is quite significant. It's a challenge to keep up with all the eating she needs to do.

It might have something to do with the fact that she still has to try to keep the legacy tree alive. It's not doing too well, with no one able to talk to plants.

Not to mention that she has a toddler to take care of too. Little Ben needed to learn to talk, and he did.

Peter's not slacking off, either. One of the wolves dug a whole in a corner of the lot, so Peter used it to try and find some treasures in the ground before closing it off. I have a business planned for the family, but they can't afford it yet.

At last, it's time for our potential heir or heiress to make an appearence!

Peter was there too, not very helpful but well, Bella had to do all the work anyway.

Soon enough, though, she had her little daughter in her arms. Meet Babette, the firstborn of Bella and Peter!

Babette's birth wasn't a traditional bathroom birth, but I suppose it was the next best thing: cramped next to a wall in a big room so that it's hard to get a reasonable picture.

As soon as Peter was done with his cheering, Babette got some nice, warm clothes.

As both of the kids were in their cribs, it was time for a bit of alone time for Bella and Peter. Dates work pretty well for maintaining their Romance aspirations, too.

After the date, Peter got the first turn taking care of the kids. Ben was almost a child, so he needed to get the rest of his toddler skills. With Peter's help, he got the walking thing down.

Meanwhile, Bella did some digging. They're not that far away from affording the family business, but neither Bella nor Peter are particularly high in their career, so they're going to need some extra cash.

Every little bit helps, Bella, thanks. So close, yet so far...

Another day, and the legacy tree continues to suffer. The house is really busy with two little ones, but Bella and Peter take turns to try and improve their gardening and to hopefully keep the tree alive.

Bella helped Ben with his last remaining toddler skill, the nursery rhyme.

Peter popped by to the Walmart, and while he was at it, he went ahead and met someone new. Even if that someone was just Aaron Davidson, one of the neighboring legacy's teenagers.

Altogether, other residents of Lakewood seemed to be having a good time in the arcade section of the store.

As for Peter, he was there for one purpose and one purpose only: to dig some more treasures to fund the business.

Not too bad, Peter, but still we don't have enough. With the rotation almost over, it looks like we won't be able to make it this time. I've already built the business, but I suppose we'll just pretend that it doesn't exist until next week, when we'll hopefully get the money for it.

Well, Bella and Peter both head to work for one last time, but with no promotions coming up, that's not going to be enough.

After too little sleep, I needed to kick Bella up, as the garden is looking pretty alarming. Even the pack leader seems to judge it.

Afterwards, Bella is on baby and toddler duty until Peter gets back. That won't last much longer, as Ben is already overdue to grow up (I tend to have birthdays as soon as they become possible), but with the household as busy as it has been, we haven't been able to get him ready and in good enough mood sooner.

With Peter back from work, it's finally time to celebrate Ben's child birthday.

And there he is, with Bella and Peter cheering him on, all bigger again. He still looks like he's going to be way too cute for an uglacy heir.
Ben: ”I can't tell if that's a bad thing or not.”
Don't you worry about that, Ben.

Peter made a quick trip to Walmart to get his step-son some new clothes, but it turned out that the birthday boy was too exhausted for a makeover and headed for a nap in the parents' bed. Well, I suppose we can do it next week.
The clock struck six, and it would be time for little Babette to grow up, but it being six o'clock also means the rotation is over, so that'll have to wait for next week too.

So, with Bella paying the taxes, it's time to leave the Goth household for now. All that remains are the scores.

Thanks! It's been fun mixing the BaCC with different sub-challenges, as it means every household is doing something different while still contributing to the main goal.
Bella had a bit of a rough time with those two pregnancies so quickly, and then two little ones around. But as they get bigger maybe it gets a bit easier.
