Lakewood_round2_261-600x375

Welcome back to Lakewood: Just a BaCC! This is the second week, and it's time for the Curious OWBC.

Hi there, Nervous, how's it going?

Nervous: "Pretty terrible, actually. I'm hungry, tired, I gotta go..."

Right. You were pregnant.

Nervous: "Yeah."

Well, not to worry. Just eat your pancakes in peace, Pascal can handle things for now. Even the gnome is there for the moment, so you can take it easy.

Lakewood_round2_262-600x375

Morning, Pascal. I see Bonita's on your mind.

Pascal: "Yeah. She's so tiny..."

That she is. And adorable.

Pascal: "Uh huh. I know I should go work on the business, but I'm not sure..."

Don't worry, since Nervous is pregnant and staying home anyway to rest, she'll be fine.

Pascal: "I suppose."

Well, but first things first, Pascal. Let Nervous and Bonita catch some sleep, and let's head over to Walmart and buy you some new clothes!

Lakewood_round2_265-600x375

So to Walamart we went.

Cashier girl: "Some new clothes for you and the husband, eh?"

Pascal: "Oh yes, and this is only the first round, you'll be seeing me repeatedly for a bit. Oh and of course, I'll need to get some for the baby girl."

It's actually been a while since I've sent sims out to buy clothes (before I started Lakewood, that is). I usually use a christianlov's hacked clothes rack to do it at home, 'cause I can't be bothered (you still have to pay for the clothes, that's why I use that one). And I kind of remembered why, too: with a full makeover, it takes ages to walk back and forth between the clothing rack and the cash register. Well, at least it was community lot time.

Lakewood_round2_266-600x375

And the trip to Walmart was useful, too: with the Monster Mash bonus on the bucket list, it's never too early to meet a supernatural.

Lakewood_round2_267-600x375

Lakewood_round2_268-600x375

Apparently, no one can go to Walmart without lots of stuff happening in the background.

Lakewood_round2_269-600x375

Pascal headed home for his makeover. That was actually because for some reason, the neighborhood portraits of this 'hood are stuck – for instance, Lizzie and Ajay's household portraits shows them as still expecting their first child. But apparently, doing the makeover at home didn't help, the Curious family portrait is stuck too. *sigh*

Well, anyway, that's just a cosmetic thing. How do you like your new look, Pascal?

Pascal: "Oh, it's pretty nice. I like the alien t-shirt especially. It's a bit slimmer than what I'm used to, though."

That's true. But I like it too, and it makes you look younger.

Lakewood_round2_270-600x375

While we were at it, little Bonita got some warm new clothes as well.

By the way, I experimented and it seems that with Chris Hatch's baby clothes hack in place, it's possible to buy baby clothes on a community lot like any other clothes, they're in the toddler category. I was able to dress little Bonita in clothes bought at the Walmart just fine with the changing table. You can get the clothes cheaper with the teddy bear, though.

Alright, Pascal, now you can leave Bonita have a nap with Nervous and... wait, what's that?

Lakewood_round2_271-600x375

Dammit, someone stole the gnome again and this time I didn't even see who it was!

Oh well, I guess Nervous will take care of it soon enough.

Lakewood_round2_273-600x375

Well, regardless of any missing gnomes Pascal left his husband and daughter to their respective naps and headed to Curious Gadgets, in order to improve on the business and earn some money. First, however, he went to the back room to start on his robotics. The OFB bonus states that every heir and spouse must earn a gold badge, so we'd better get started!

Lakewood_round2_275-600x375

After that, it was back to selling the buy mode gadgets.

Pascal: "And here, mr. Goodie, we have a fine selection of the best toy helicopters available on the market!"

Lakewood_round2_278-600x375

It wasn't always easy...

Lakewood_round2_277-600x375

Lakewood_round2_279-600x375

... but Pascal was learning all the time.

Lakewood_round2_280-600x375

The customers were also digging it, so it was clearly worth it. Level 5, woot! Thanks, Erin!

Lakewood_round2_281-600x375

It does seem, however, that not everyone in Lakewood knows how to queue properly.

Chloe: "Shush, I'm just being different!"

I don't know why it is, but somehow my customers are pretty restless these days. They stand in each others' way quite easily, and I think I've even seen someone (accidentally) cut in line. Oh well, as long as they eventually all get served and leave happy, I suppose it doesn't matter which way they stand in queue.

Lakewood_round2_282-600x375

When we headed back home, it was time for Nervous, too, to wake up from his nap and have his makeover.

Nervous: "Eww, please take it away!"

Alright, alright. Actually, I kind of agree. I was hoping for a mohawk that wouldn't poke Pascal in the eye when cuddling, but it just looks too weird that the rest of your head is shiny like a bowling ball.

Lakewood_round2_283-600x375

Nervous: "Now that's better. And the clothes are ok."

I'm glad that we agree.

Lakewood_round2_285-600x375

Pascal: "Hey honey, what do you say, should we have a date?"

Nervous: "Date?"

Pascal: "Yeah, nothing fancy, just here at home. I was thinking we could both use some aspiration and a needs boost wouldn't hurt either."

Nervous: "I like the way you think."

Lakewood_round2_286-600x375

Lakewood_round2_288-600x375

So a date it was.

Lakewood_round2_287-600x375

Admittedly, it was interrupted by Nervous starting to show.

Lakewood_round2_289-600x375

And like true family men, the couple also interrupted it to feed the baby.

Lakewood_round2_291-600x375

But anyway, it was a really nice date.

Lakewood_round2_290-600x375

I didn't want Bonita to get bored while her daddies were busy, so I decided to give the baby bouncer a try. I don't know what Bonita thought she was doing there, but in any case she seemed to enjoy it, so mission accomplished.

Lakewood_round2_292-600x375

In the evening, Nervous was actually the less tired of the two, so he got to stay up in the hope of finding some bugs.

Lakewood_round2_293-600x375

And of course, to steal back the gnome. Thanks again, Nervous!

Nervous: "My pleasure."

Lakewood_round2_294-600x375

Lakewood_round2_295-600x375

In the morning, it was time for Pascal to feed the hungry pregnant spouse as well as the baby, and...

Lakewood_round2_296-600x375

... apparently get stuck between a chair and a computer. Seriously, Pascal, I don't know how you did that. It was Nervous sitting in that chair two seconds ago, not you.

Pascal: "... I thought I could pass through here. Just help me out of here, will you?"

Lakewood_round2_297-600x375

Well, once I got Pascal unstuck from the chair, he headed back to the store and did some more work on his robotics.

Lakewood_round2_298-600x375

He also eventually opened the store, and apparently it was kind of hard for some customers to find the things that they wanted.

Lakewood_round2_299-600x375

Pascal managed the business surprisingly well on his own. He did have to close it every now and then, since between being the cashier and helping customers find what they need, he can't restock the shelves as fast as the customers are emptying them.

Lakewood_round2_300-600x375

But restocking is Pascal's favorite part. He keeps wanting to earn badges, and well, I happily indulge.

Lakewood_round2_303-600x375

Lakewood_round2_304-600x375

After taking advantage of his high aspiration level by energizing, Pascal went on and earned more badges, too.

Lakewood_round2_305-600x375

And since the business was doing quite well, we decided to expand the selection a little bit. We added some fancier television options, as well as some more electronic entertainment.

Lakewood_round2_306-600x375

Olive here is browsing our fancy new computer section.

Lakewood_round2_307-600x375

With the upgrade, we saw our first golden shopping bag.

Pascal: "Wow, it looks like we could actually make pretty good money on this place!"

Lakewood_round2_308-600x375

And almost without noticing it, we reached level 6 for Curious Gadgets. Yay!

Lakewood_round2_309-600x375

Apparently the electronics store is a romantic place at least for some customers. Chloe seems to want to spend more time with Daniel this rotation.

Lakewood_round2_311-600x375

Pascal: "I'm so sorry, Ajay, we don't have any arcade games for sale."

Dammit, Pascal, there's one right behind you!

I don't know what's going on here. Every now and then we get a customer that does the confused spin around, and has a thought bubble with an arcade game in it. It started before I did the upgrade, and it was actually why I put one for sale in the first place. I found it kind of odd, I'd never seen a customer look for something that isn't actually sold in the business they're visiting.

When Pascal goes to ask "May I help you?", the customer seems to explaing what they want in the normal manner, and then Pascal makes this apologetic face, as if saying sorry, we no have, and then the customer loses some loyalty. To me it looks like the customer wants to shop for an arcade game but Pascal says we don't have any, even though we do. Any customers that actually go for the arcade game can buy it just fine, so I've no idea what the deal is.

Oh well, what say you Pascal, shall we head back home?

Pascal: "That'd be great."

Lakewood_round2_312-600x375

Back at home. Oh Nerrrvooouuus, the baby is crying!

Nervous: "I'm kind of busy here!"

Lakewood_round2_313-600x375

Lakewood_round2_314-600x375

Pacal spent the afternoon studying and speaking on the phone, to keep an eye on Bonita while Nervous slept.

Lakewood_round2_315-600x375

And well, no wonder either, as it was time for Nervous to get bigger again. One more day, and this pregnancy will be done with!

Nervous: "And we'll have another baby!"

Lakewood_round2_316-600x375

But before any babies make an appearance, there's something else to take care of. Bonita is growing up to a toddler tonight, so this calls for a party. Bonita's birthday will be the obligatory party of the winter. Go on, Pascal, call some friends!

Pascal: "Aye aye, m'am."

Lakewood_round2_318-600x375

Since Bonita is too little to have any friends of her own, Pascal invited some of his. This resulted in a nice porch party. Except...

Lakewood_round2_319-600x375

Nina, I can see you perfectly well.

Nina: "But you can't do anything to stop me!"

True. More work for Nervous, I suppose.

Lakewood_round2_322-600x375

Lakewood_round2_323-600x375

The porch party was interrupted for, you know, the actual birthday. Even the guests bothered to come watch.

Lakewood_round2_324-600x375

It looks like there isn't enough light in this corner of the house. But in any case, Bonita grew up cute. Her personality is 10/0/10/0/6 (Virgo).

Lakewood_round2_325-600x375

The birthday girl needed a nap, so the party went on mostly without her. Maybe it was the best too, since apparently the adults didn't entirely behave.

Lakewood_round2_326-600x375

Olive: "I'm being asked to leave. Why am I always being asked to leave?"

Lakewood_round2_327-600x375

Frankly, the party turned out way better without her. I mean, the party score was on its way up like fifteen sim minutes after she left.

Lakewood_round2_328-600x375

Nervous: "Yeah, Pascal met the aliens, and he's thrilled about it. I wasn't too keen on it originally, but well, now we have Bonita so I can't complain."

Brandi: "Oooh, so that's why she's so green!"

Lakewood_round2_329-600x375

Pascal: "I like your glasses, Cassandra. You've got great taste."

Cassandra: "Oh thank you Pascal, so nice of you to say so! I wasn't really sure about them, but..."

Lakewood_round2_330-600x375

I really can't keep track of all the sims John Burb has shown interest in. Well, I suppose Brandi is kind of the same.

Lakewood_round2_333-600x375

Well, in any case the party was a roof raiser again. The score must have risen again just about the second the timer went to zero, since it was still "good time" when I last saw it.

Nervous: "I'm going to follow Nina home and see where she puts the gnome."

Lakewood_round2_334-600x375

So yes, again Nervous saved the gnome.

Lakewood_round2_335-600x375

After little Bonita woke up from her nap, it was time for a makeover. She's a little cutie.

Lakewood_round2_336-600x375

While her daddies retired to bed for the night, Bonita got to amuse herself. Instead of a bunny, she got an alien, because I couldn't resist. It's such a cute toy!

Lakewood_round2_337-600x375

Lakewood_round2_339-600x375

In the morning, it was time for Bonita's toddler training to commence. Pascal was bored, but potty training was so worth it. And after all the work we did with the Davidsons this week, I've got a new appreciation for smart milk!

Lakewood_round2_340-600x375

Nervous wanted to go hiking, in the snow, so I let him. Apparently it paid off, too. One step closer to having a bug nut!

Lakewood_round2_341-600x375

Pascal, what are you doing?

Pascal: "Jumping on the couch, what does it look like?"

Yes, but... why?

Pascal: "I felt like it?"

Fair enough.

Lakewood_round2_342-600x375

The afternoon was spent studying. Like father, like daughter. And in Nervous' case, it was spent sleeping, because pregnant.

Lakewood_round2_343-600x375

Pascal learned fire safety, and was a happy camper for it.

Lakewood_round2_344-600x375

Since there was a new baby coming up and the family fortunately had the money, we renovated the house a bit and made it bigger.

Lakewood_round2_345-600x375

For instance, we got an actual nursery, which will probably be transformed into a kids' room once the inhabitants are big enough.

Lakewood_round2_346-600x375

We also got a new couch, since the old one was glitching, and a nice tv set, which...

What is it, Nervous?

Nervous: "The baby!"

Lakewood_round2_347-600x375

Oh, right, time for a little brother or sister for Bonita!

Lakewood_round2_349-600x375

The Curious family welcomed another new member, a little girl whom we named Odessa.

Lakewood_round2_350-600x375

They also promptly purchased three more flamingoes in her honor.

Lakewood_round2_351-600x375

Welcome to the family, Odessa!

Lakewood_round2_352-600x375

I was a bit faster in giving Odessa an actual outfit than I have been before. Maybe it demonstrates that I'm an individual capable of learning?

Lakewood_round2_353-600x375

Odessa seems to enjoy the bouncer, too.

Lakewood_round2_355-600x375

Thanks to the nap earlier, Nervous wasn't all exhausted in the evening, so he got to help Bonita with the walking thing.

Lakewood_round2_357-600x375

And after that, it was bedtime for Bonita's daddies. She got to enjoy another alien-themed new toy. (Yes, this update is mostly Bonita spam. She's so adorable.)

Lakewood_round2_358-600x375

The next day, Nervous spent the forenoon hunting bugs. He even managed to catch something.

Lakewood_round2_361-600x375

... before this happened, obviously.

Lakewood_round2_359-600x375

Pascal spent his time on the phone, keeping up with some friends.

Lakewood_round2_363-600x375

After the immediate needs of the little ones were met, Pascal headed back to Curious Gadgets. He wanted the gold restocking badge, so that required running the store for a bit. But first, he got to work on his robotics again.

Lakewood_round2_368-600x375

In fact, Pascal was building up somewhat of a stock of toy robots, se we decided to start selling them. It turned out that they can't be placed in the custom shelves that I've used for the store, so we got an OFB shelf for them instead. At least it's grey.

Lakewood_round2_369-600x375

See? Titania is another one wanting for the arcade game.

After having a close look at her thought bubble, I had a lightbulb moment.

Lakewood_round2_370-600x375

I didn't catch a picture with Titania, but it seems that I was right: the customers wanted the red arcade game in particular. After I bought it and put it for sale, Pascal started showing it to customers with the arcade game thought bubble and they started gaining loyalty instead of losing it.

I'm pretty amazed. After 10+ years I still discover stuff about this game!

Lakewood_round2_371-600x375

The business reached rank 7, but Pascal's gold restocking badge proved elusive. His aspiration and needs were getting low, so we headed back home.

Lakewood_round2_373-600x375

Lakewood_round2_374-600x375

What better way to boost aspiration and needs than having an awesome date with a spouse? I don't think Pascal and Nervous can think of one.

Lakewood_round2_377-600x375

Since Nervous was the less tired of the two, he was on diaper duty that night. He also got chased by bees some before going back to bed.

Lakewood_round2_378-600x375

In the morning, Pascal got to work with Bonita on talking, and they managed it. (Have I mentioned how I love smart milk?)

Lakewood_round2_379-600x375

Whoops, seems that someone broke the bathroom stuff. The OFB rules say that broken stuff can only be fixed "at noon", which I interpret to mean that I have to wait until the next time the clock passes 12:00 to give the command. Well, luckily it was almost noon anyway.

Lakewood_round2_382-600x375

Pascal made a trip to the electronics store again. Otherwise it was pretty uneventful, but he did finally get his gold restocking badge. Go Pascal!

Pascal: "Thanks."

Lakewood_round2_383-600x375

Back at home, Nervous got the honor of doing some last minute toddler training, as Bonita was due to grow up and still needed to learn her nursery rhyme.

Lakewood_round2_384-600x375

Lakewood_round2_385-600x375

Lakewood_round2_386-600x375

With the help of smart milk, Bonita learned perfectly on time, and so the family gathered for her birthday. She does have to share her birthday, as Odessa is due to grow up today, too, but as the eldest, at least she got to go first.

Lakewood_round2_387-600x375

Lakewood_round2_388-600x375

Bonita continues to be adorable. That outfit may not be the best possible, though.

Lakewood_round2_389-600x375

We interrupt our regularly scheduled birthday with some ACR action.

Lakewood_round2_390-600x375

Bonita: "Nuh-uh, my daddies can't come to the phone right now. They went and locked the bedroom door behind them and said not to disturb."

Lakewood_round2_392-600x375

The third obligatory pregnancy of the generation is a reality, then. All thanks to ACR.

Lakewood_round2_393-600x375

Meanwhile, Bonita got a new dress that suited her better. The hair still looked nice on her, so we kept that.

Lakewood_round2_394-600x375

Lakewood_round2_396-600x375

After these little detours, it was time for the family to gather again for Odessa's birthday.

Lakewood_round2_398-600x375

Like her big sister, Odessa grew up adorable, too.

Lakewood_round2_399-600x375

As it happened that Bonita was a big girl now and needed her own bed, we did a bit of emergency remodeling. We split the nursery into two smaller rooms, and made one of them into a little room for Bonita. I think we'll need to expand the house again next rotation, but this'll do for now.

Lakewood_round2_400-600x375

It was almost bedtime for everyone, but before that, Odessa got her makeover too. (She was the only one who wasn't tired at all.) She's such a cutie, and even though I'm just about blind when it comes to genetics, even I can tell those eyes come from Nervous. Oh, and she's an Aries with the personality 10/9/5/0/2.

Lakewood_round2_402-600x375

There was still the weekend to go, and Bonita wanted to start her Saturday morning by jumping rope.

Lakewood_round2_405-600x375

Nervous spent the forenoon working on her Nature enthusiasm and re-fertilizing the garden, as we moved it a little bit when renovating. Also, running to the toilet every now and then, because morning sickness.

Lakewood_round2_406-600x375

Pascal had an agenda, so this nice lady was invited over. I was rather surprised to see the good witch in a regular outfit and hair. But it seems that it was her outerwear, as she changed into the witchy clothes as she entered the house.

In the background you can see Bonita and Juliette Capp getting along nicely. Bonita had the want for a friend, so Juliette was greeted when she passed by the house.

Lakewood_round2_409-600x375

That may have been a mistake, though.

Lakewood_round2_410-600x375

Or then not. It seems that Juliette noticed that she was being watched and didn't take the gnome afterall.

Lakewood_round2_411-600x375

Instead, she started kicking the flamingoes. *sigh*

Lakewood_round2_414-600x375

Pascal: "Hmm, the milk looks somehow different from usual."

Whoops. Yeah, my bad, Pascal. Just don't give that to Odessa, ok?

Lakewood_round2_415-600x375

Nervous: "Eww. What's a little being puked on between best friends, right?"

Lakewood_round2_416-600x375

Pascal got the honor of potty training Odessa. And the aspiration points, which were sorely needed.

Lakewood_round2_419-600x375

After that interlude, his friend the good witch agreed to give him more aspiration by transforming him into a warlock. Pascal had wanted it for a bit, and since we'll try the monster mash bonus at some point, I figured it'd be easier if there was someone magical in the family already. Plus, witches and warlocks are fun to play.

Lakewood_round2_421-600x375

Pascal: "Look, I'm Harry Potter!"

No you're not. Go put on your regular clothes.

Lakewood_round2_422-600x375

While I was being excited over Pascal's new life state, apparently Juliette's second try at the gnome was successful.

Lakewood_round2_425-600x375

The evening was spent at regular activities, such as toddler training and in Nervous' case, bug hunting. He did manage to catch something just before he started showing again. I checked his bug collection and so far he has 12 bugs.

Lakewood_round2_429-600x375

On Sunday morning, Bonita got to help her daddies by straightening up the flamingoes that her almost friend kicked down the day before. After that she got to speak to Juliette on the phone and fulfill that friend want.

Lakewood_round2_431-600x375

Pascal had an agenda for today too, but before he got to it, there was apt time to work on some magical ingredients. For now, his cauldron and book are in the living room, but will probably be moved later on when they have a bigger house.

Lakewood_round2_433-600x375

Nervous spent the day taking care of his needs and helping with toddler training whenever he wasn't too drained by his pregnancy.

Lakewood_round2_434-600x375

Pascal: "Hi Brandi, thanks for coming over."

Brandi: "It's always a pleasure, Pascal."

On with today's agenda!

Lakewood_round2_435-600x375

Except that, when intending to make dinner, I found out that I should have paid attention to the fridge warnings earlier, as now the family was out of food. Fortunately Bonita was willing to keep Brandi company meanwhile. No, Bonita, daddy Nervous does not have a soccer ball under his shirt.

Lakewood_round2_436-600x375

Pascal: "Heelp, my broomstick is stuck in the telephone box!"

Stop being silly and just get the groceries, will you?

Lakewood_round2_437-600x375

Pascal: "So Brandi, there was something I meant to talk to you about..."

Brandi: *munch munch gobble gobble*

Pascal: "Never mind, let's talk about it after dinner."

Lakewood_round2_438-600x375

Pascal: "...so we were thinking with Katri that you could be the next playable sim in Lakewood. How do you like that?"

Brandi: "Sure, that sounds like fun."

Lakewood_round2_439-600x375

So yes, Brandi moved in, if only for a little bit. She's also the sim who puts the population above 100, opening a spot in the Criminal career track. Regan will be glad to hear that next rotation.

Brandi: "So what did you have in store for me?"

Oh, did you think I'd spoil the surprise? Nope!

Lakewood_round2_441-600x375

And what was Nervous up to when all this happened? He was eating like three platefuls of spaghetti. No kidding. He was very, very hungry.

Lakewood_round2_443-600x375

Brandi really didn't stay long. Her needs were in decent shape, so she just looked for her own place and left. Bye, Brandi! See you in the household after the next!

Lakewood_round2_444-600x375

Nervous got bigger again, in the yard as has become customary.

Lakewood_round2_445-600x375

Alright, Nervous. Pay the taxes and then you can go to bed. Unless you'd really want to do something else first...?

Nervous: "Huh? No, thanks, I'd rather just go to bed. It's been a long day."

*sigh*

Lakewood_round2_446-600x375

So no, for some reason Nervous hasn't gone to steal back the gnome that Juliette stole yesterday. I hope the action hasn't gotten wiped by a pregnancy bump or something, because that may mean that we've lost the gnome. I was bothered by the empty spot in front of the flamingoes, so I put down gnome #2 from Nervous' inventory. Whether we get the original one back will have to be seen next week, since this concludes the week for the Curious family!

So now onto the scores, first for the BaCC:
