Yeah, you can get a bug when hiking, it's happened to me before, but it's not very common. Also I'm not sure if it works for the last missing bugs or if it's just specific bugs that you can find that way. It didn't work for Nervous, but I had to try it. Good luck with the remaining bugs! I'm a little batty after all that bug-hunting, and to think they have to do it every generation...
Yeah, I like all the girls, they're pretty awesome. :) That's true about the gnome, I suppose we're going to need another mean spouse. Or perhaps the servo might help us there...
